Jessica is a friendly, highly skilled and talented violinist, oboist, teacher and composer/arranger. She performs professionally around Australia for orchestras, chamber music projects and recordings. She regularly plays in spaces as diverse as concert halls, jazz venues, music festivals, folk clubs and house concerts.
In her violin teaching, Jess explores classical, folk, early music, improvisation, and contemporary styles. She really enjoys sharing her passion for music with her students! Jess firmly believes that music is for fun and to get your imagination going, to bring on the feels and stir the emotions. Her lessons are engaging and educational and she is focussed on each student’s individual journey of their learning discovery. She guides students to develop a strong technique and really hone their listening skills.
Jess teaches in school music programs around Melbourne, has private students, and tutors at music camps and festival workshops. She has a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Victorian College of the Arts, and she was a stipend recipient in the advanced performance program at the Australian National Academy of Music. She has a Master of Music Performance from the Hochschule für Musik, Karlsruhe, Germany, and a Masters in Early Music Performance from the University of Melbourne Conservatorium. She is delighted to join the teaching staff at the Mae Collard School of Music.
